People in the holy city of Mashhad on Saturday held a mourning ceremony at Imam Reza’s holy shrine to bid farewell to the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Shiraz.

Iran PressIran News: Fifteen pilgrims, including a woman and two children, lost their lives and at least 40 others were wounded as a heavily-armed terrorist attacked the popular shrine in Iran’s southwestern province.

The attack occurred at around 5:45 p.m. local time (1415 GMT) on Wednesday, just before the evening prayers.

In a ceremony held at the shrine of Imam Reza, the eighth Shia Imam, participants held congregational prayers for the victims.

On Saturday morning, Iranians from all walks of life in Shiraz attended the funeral ceremony of the martyrs of the terrorist attack on the Shahcheragh shrine, a highly revered shrine in the southern city of Shiraz, Fars Province.

The Daesh terror group has claimed responsibility for the attack that left 40 people wounded.
