Tehran (IP)- Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman says Tehran will soon place sanctions on American and Canadian individuals and institutions in retaliation for the recent sanctions by the US and Canada.

Iran PressIran News: Canada on Wednesday imposed new sanctions on six Iranian individuals and four entities over alleged human rights violations in the country and continued actions to destabilize regional peace and security.

It was followed by the United States, which on Wednesday imposed new sanctions on members of Iran’s intelligence ministry, leaders of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), prison wardens and others.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani responded to a question by reporters about the Ministry’s planned measures in retaliation for the recent sanctions by the US and Canada.

“Based on the ratifications of relevant authorities, within the framework of related laws and sanctions mechanisms and as a reciprocal action, the Islamic Republic of Iran will soon place sanctions on American and Canadian individuals and institutions for their intentional measures to support terrorism and terror groups and to fuel and provoke terrorism, violence and hate-mongering, which have led to riots, violence, terror acts and violations of the Iranian nation’s rights,” he said.
