The Minister of Defense of Russia announced on Friday that 82,000 people will be sent to the battlefield with the Ukrainian military.

Iran PressEurope: Russia says it has finished calling up hundreds of thousands of reservists to fight in Ukraine with more than one-quarter already deployed to the battlefield.

Russia has will send 82,000 newly conscripted men to Ukraine in just over a month, according to the country’s defense minister, as Russian President Vladimir Putin seeks to turn the tide of the war in Ukraine.

Sergei Shoigu, the defense minister, said Friday that the mobilization of hundreds of thousands of men ordered by Putin on Sept. 21 was complete. Half of those sent to Ukraine were already assigned to combat units, the minister said.

Putin thanked the reservists “for their dedication to duty, for their patriotism, for their firm determination to defend our country, to defend Russia, which means their home, their family, our citizens, our people”.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday expressed doubt about Russia’s declaration that its draft was complete, saying the performance of Moscow’s forces meant more men could be needed. 219
