Tehran (IP) - The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy's statement saying that the garden/jungle metaphor arises from an utterly unacceptable colonial mentality for the West.

Iran PressIran News: Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, in response to the statements of Josep Borrell, the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, tweeted: "The garden/jungle metaphor arises from an utterly unacceptable colonial mentality which gives the West a right to invade & occupy."

Meanwhile, Borrell has been described by world media as a racist gardener who considers Europe as a garden and the rest of the world as a jungle!

Kanaani added: "That era has long gone. Multipolarity is on the doorstep."

The spokesperson of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "EU needs to adopt the realities, otherwise it will continue to decline & fade."

On Monday, during his weekly presser with journalists, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, in response to a question about the statements of Josep Borrell, who called Europe a garden and the rest of the world a jungle, said that Borrell's statements have had many reactions and his statements have also aroused many surprises in Europe and that judgment should be left to those who have heard his words.

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy last Thursday at the University Center for European Diplomacy opening ceremony in Bruges, Belgium, said: "Europe is a garden that has the best combination of political freedom, economic prospects and social cohesion. The rest of the world isn't really a garden, most of the world is jungle and jungles may invade the garden."
