Tehran (IP) - The statement of the First Ministerial Meeting on Transit Cooperation between Iran and the Central Asian countries was signed by the participants of the forum in Tehran.

Iran PressIran News: After two days of holding meetings between Iran and the central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, and the Azerbaijan Republic, the representatives of the countries signed a transit statement issued in the meeting.

The Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development, Rostam Ghasemi, said the meeting was on the initiation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and would be held from now every six-month.

The participating countries in the summit emphasized the development of the transit sector, the unification of transit tariffs, and the issuance of one-year visas for transit drivers as part of the signed statement, Ghasemi added.

He recalled that Raisi's administration was seeking to facilitate transit cooperation with the countries that had no relations with Iran.

As the Iranian minister said, based on the published statement, the expansion of transit in the region was put on the agenda and started today, Sunday, October 9, 2022.
