Khuzestan (IP) - The Command Base of Khuzestan province, southwestern Iran, reported the dismantling of an arm-smuggling gang in an operation.

Iran PressIran news: Brigadier-General Mohammad Salehi said on Saturday that the gang consisted of three smugglers who were trying to transferer a weapon cargo to Shoosh city and distribute it.

According to the inspections, 9 Kalashnikov rifles were seized, and two cars, the detained ones used for smuggling things.

A heavy cargo of ammunition also was detected two days ago, which was planned to be transferred from Baneh, the western border of Iran, to Khuzestan province to create insecurity.

According to the report, 11,600 pistole bullets, 7,200 Kalashnikov rifles, two walkie-talkies, and a large amount of anti-chasing stuff, including special nails, were seized.

The arm-smuggling gangs were dismantled as, nowadays, Iran is witnessing some riots in several parts, which were sparked under the pretext of the death of a 22-year-old girl.
