Iran’s Minister of Road and Urban Development met with the Syrian Prime Minister in Damascus, discussing the means of enhancing bilateral relations in various fields, particularly the economic, transportation, investment, reconstruction, and oil domains.

Iran PressMiddle East: In the meeting, the head of the Syrian-Iranian joint committee Rostam Ghasemi reiterated Iran's continuous support to Syria to overcome the difficulties encountered in the economic field, underlining the great potential for cooperation in commercial and urban projects.

For his part, Arnous said Syria appreciates Iran’s continued support to the Syrian people at all levels, especially securing oil derivatives in light of the unjust blockade, welcoming the Iranian companies willing to develop economic partnerships with Syria.

Both sides hailed the strategic relations between the two countries based on mutual support and respect, asserting the importance of investing their material and human resources to develop the situation and prospects of vital economic sectors.

In a related development, Ghasemi met the Syrian Minister of Public Works and Housing Suhail Abdullatif.

The two sides agreed on enhancing and developing cooperation and work between Syria and Iran to reach the level of remarkable political relations linking the two friendly countries.

They also discussed exchanging expertise in the public housing field.

Abdullatif reviewed the important axes of cooperation between the two sides, particularly the joint protocol which was signed during the activities of the 14th session of the Syrian-Iranian Joint Committee, which included a memo of understanding and an executive program for a number of main axes.

In turn, Ghassemi explained his country’s desire to develop joint cooperation in the housing field.
