In their second competition at the 5th Asian Women's Club League Handball Championship in Almaty, Iran's Foolad Mobarakeh SSC (IRI) faced the team of Kuwait's Al-Qurain Club on Sunday evening and defeated it 21-19.

Foolad Mobarakeh SSC (IRI) lost to South Korean team Sugar Gliders HC 34-22 on Saturday.

The Iranian team will play Kazakhstan’s Alatau Arulary HC on Monday.

Montserrat Puche Díaz, the Spanish head coach of Sepahan Foolad Mobarakeh women's handball team, said in an interview with Iran Press News Agency in Almaty that Foolad Mobarakeh Club only had five weeks to prepare for the tournament in Kazakhstan, and there was no time for friendly matches.The head coach stated that the club's condition is gradually improving, and the two Kazakh teams participating in the tournament are very tough rivals for Iran.

The 5th Asian Women's Club League Handball Championship is being held from October 1 to 9 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Alatau Arulary HC (KAZ), Uzbechka Club (UZB), SK Sugar Gliders HC (KOR), Handball Club Dostyk (KAZ), Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan (IRI), Sports Club (IND) and Al-Qurain SC (KUW) are competing in the Championship.
