Iraq (IP)- The Iraqi Foreign Minister says the country is trying to shift the negotiations between Tehran and Riyadh from the security level to the political level.

Iran PressMiddle East: The Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fouad Hussein said on Tuesday that the Iranian and Saudi sides had five meetings in Baghdad at the security level so far and that the differences were at the dialogue level.

"I met with the Iranian and Saudi sides; we are trying to shift from the security level of the negotiations to the political level between the foreign ministers [of the two countries]; But the process is still ongoing," he noted.

Iran has time and again announced its readiness to continue dialogues with Saudi Arabia and, pointing out that the continuation of the talks depends on the will of the other side.

Earlier in March, Iran’s Foreign Minister described Tehran-Riyadh ties as “not good” and said Tehran was not responsible for the situation, but it was ready to hold the fifth round of talks with Saudi Arabia.
