Tehran (IP) – Member of the National Security Commission at the Iranian Parliament says the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia will meet in Baghdad in the near future.

Iran PressIran News: Iranian MP Javad Karimi-Ghoddusi stated that Tehran and Riyadh had achieved preliminary agreements and the Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian would meet with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan in the near future.

He highlighted that bilateral issues, reopening of embassies and the Yemeni crisis would be discussed in the meeting.

Iran and Saudi Arabia held their fifth round of talks in Baghdad on April 23, 2022.

During the fifth round of the talks, the two countries' main challenges to the restoration of diplomatic relations were discussed.

Senior officials from the Iranian Supreme National Security Council and the head of the Saudi Intelligence Service attended the meeting in the Iraqi capital.
