New York (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister says the Americans have sent a message in recent days that they have goodwill to reach an agreement and said that he told the Americans to show their realism, resolution and goodwill to reach an agreement realistically.

Iran PressAmerica: Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein-Amirabdollahian, who is in New York, told reporters about the focus of his meetings with foreign ministers of other countries: "Our talks and consultations with other countries is on the issue of lifting sanctions."

Amir-Abdollahian added: "The fact that we are in New York increases the sensitivity of foreign parties to what is happening."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs continued: "Our team and our colleagues in New York held talks with the representative of the European Union and the countries related to the JCPOA negotiations, and in the talks I had with different parties in the last two days, this issue was on the agenda."

Amir-Abdollahian added: "In these meetings, I emphasized that we have the will and determination to reach an agreement, and now it is the American side that must have the courage to make a decision so that we can talk about reaching a good, strong and stable agreement."

Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs stated: "The American side has repeatedly informed us even in recent days that they have the will and goodwill necessary to reach an agreement, and we told them, so show your will and goodwill realistically and prove it so that we can reach a point of agreement."

He further said that the frankness of President Ebrahim Raisi's words has been noted.

Amir-Abdollahian added: "The president had many meetings despite his short stay in New York, which were effective meetings for pursuing bilateral issues and regional and international issues."

He stated: "Also, in recent days, we have had meetings with the foreign ministers of five continents in order to explain the views of the Islamic Republic of Iran while pursuing bilateral issues."
