New York (IP) - The foreign ministers of the countries that are the guarantors of the Astana process were held in New York on Wednesday with the presence of the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia, and Turkey.

Iran PressAmerica: The Astana talks started in January 2017 with the initiative of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the cooperation of Russia and Turkey, aimed at establishing peace in Syria.

According to Iran Press, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu discussed and exchanged views on Syrian issues in this meeting.

This meeting was held at the permanent representation of Turkey in the United Nations.

Iran, Turkey, and Russia, as guarantors of the Astana process, are trying to solve the Syrian crisis.

The crisis in Syria started in 2011 with the massive invasion of terrorist groups supported by Saudi Arabia, America, and their allies to change the equation of the region in favor of the Zionist regime.
