Beirut (IP)- The Minister of Agriculture of Lebanon met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beirut and discussed the expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

Iran Press / Middle East: On Monday, in a meeting with Mojtaba Amani, Iran's ambassador to Beirut, Al Hajj Hassan Abbas, called for a dialogue on the problems of Lebanon's agricultural sector and its solutions and to expand cooperation between the two countries in this field.

The Minister of Agriculture of Lebanon then said in an exclusive interview with the Iran press correspondent in Beirut that the relations between Iran and Lebanon in the agricultural sector are very old and imports and exports are carried out between the two countries.

The Minister of Agriculture of Lebanon stated that the meeting with the Iranian ambassador in Beirut was friendly, during which the memorandums of understanding between the two countries in the field of expanding agricultural cooperation were discussed.

Al Hajj Hassan Abbas said the Ministry of Agriculture of Lebanon and the Ministry of Agriculture of Iran has a mission to investigate the mechanism of expanding cooperation by drawing a new perspective so that the memorandums become a cooperation document in the framework of the consultation of the technical committees.

The Minister of Agriculture of Lebanon emphasized that the Lebanese government is looking for the best relations with the countries of the region, and with no doubt, the Islamic Republic of Iran is a friend of Lebanon and the expansion of cooperation between the two countries is in the interest of the Lebanese people.
