Tehran (IP) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for the Economic Diplomacy terms trade with Iraq very important, saying that Iran’s export value to Iraq is about $14 billion.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking in a session of Iran's Foreign Economic Relations Coordination Headquarters focusing on the latest measures taken for organizing the Exclusive Exhibition of Iran in Turkmenistan's Ashgabat and reviewing the latest situation of economic relations with Iraq, Mehdi Safari stated that organizing the exhibition and active participation of the private sector and Iranian commercial envoy in this fair is 'very important'.

The Iranian deputy foreign minister for economic diplomacy noted that active participation in Iran's private sector would spur export and accelerate the trade balance to Turkmenistan.

He highlighted that a preliminary agreement had been reached with the Turkmen regarding exporting technical and engineering services to this country.

Safari also termed Iran's trade with Iraq as 'very significant' and put Iran's total export value to Iraq at about $14 billion.

Pointing to the shared border crossings with Iraq, he added that Iran's export value to Iraq is about $14 billion.
