Three explosions rocked a US military base in the Al-Omar oil field, east of Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria, which led to a fire in the area.

Iran PressMiddle East: The informed sources said that the sounds coincided with the overflight of a drone in the sky of Deir Ezzor countryside. The same sources suggested that the popular resistance in Deir Ezzor targeted the illegal US occupation base.

SANA reported that "Several explosions were heard on Saturday at the US occupation base in Al-Omar oil field in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor."

The Syrian news agency cited local sources as saying that explosions were heard at the base, adding that the nature of those explosions was not verified.

The local sources mentioned that the explosions were followed by an intense flight of the US occupation aircraft over the area, according to SANA.

The blasts came a couple of days after Syrian air defense forces intercepted Wednesday three Israeli missiles fired at airfields in Aleppo and Damascus.

SANA announced on Wednesday evening that several explosions were heard in the sky of the city of Aleppo, northern Syria.

The agency cited a military source as saying that the Syrian air defense forces repelled an Israeli air force missile attack in the skies over Damascus and its suburbs.
