Moscow (IP) - Special envoy of the Iranian President in Afghanistan said that Iran, along with the neighboring countries, supports a safe and developed Afghanistan.

Iran PressEurope: "Hassan Kazemi Qomi," the Special envoy of the Iranian President for Afghanistan, wrote on his Twitter account: "I had constructive talks with the special representative of Russia for Afghanistan affairs."

Kazemi Qomi added: "Regional cooperation, efforts to establish lasting peace and fight against terrorism have been the principal axes of my talks with the Russian special envoy for Afghanistan affairs.

The special envoys of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia on Afghan affairs met in Moscow on Wednesday and exchanged views on the latest developments in this country.

Seyed Rasool Mousavi, Assistant to Iran's Foreign Minister and Director General of South Asia of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also tweeted: "Special envoys of Iran and Russia discussed the latest developments in Afghanistan."

Mousavi added: Regional cooperation and the central role of the neighboring countries of Afghanistan and Russia in the security, peace, and stability of Afghanistan and the fight against terrorism were the main focus of the consultations of "Hasan Kazemi Qomi" and "Zamir Kabulov," the special envoy of Russia for Afghanistan affairs.

Since the return of the Taliban to power in August 2021 until now, the country of Afghanistan has faced challenging economic conditions due to the unwillingness of the international community to officially recognize this group and its reluctance to cooperate with this country.

The living conditions of the Afghan people are severely in crisis, and the lack of financial resources needed to import essential goods, especially food, to Afghanistan caused a shortage and high price of food in the markets of this country.

Due to these problems, food security in Afghanistan is endangered, and human rights organizations warn about the humanitarian crisis caused by famine and hunger for millions of people in this country.
