Iraq (IP) - The head of Iraq's Kurdistan Region expressed concern over the crisis going on in Baghdad and invited the disputing parties to self-restrain and national dialogue.

Iran PressMiddle East: Issuing a statement, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, announced his withdrawal from the political arena in Iraq today, Monday.

Nechirvan Barzani noted that peaceful protest was a legal right of the people, but shutting down the governmental institutions would solve no problems in Iraq. 

He called on the security forces to act cautiously and not let the protests become a pretext for escalating the tensions. 

Barzani reiterated that the conditions in Iraq required the utmost tact and pursuing the implementation of national dialogue and cooperation.

Following the entrance of Muqtada Sadr's supporters to the Iraqi presidential palace, the Commander of the Iraqi Army Joint Operations announced a curfew in Baghdad from 3:30 p.m. today, Monday local time.

The Green Zone in Baghdad and some other cities witnessed the escalation of the tensions made by the Sadrists.
