Baghdad(IP) - The number of casualties on Monday's clashes in Iraq's Baghdad increased to 20 dead and 350 wounded.

Iran PressMiddle East: On Monday, after the statement of Muqtada al-Sadr resignation from political activities in Iraq,  protesters stormed the presidential palace in Baghdad's Green Zone.

Hours later, after the security forces took control of the presidential palace, Muqtada al-Sadr's supporters began withdrawing from Baghdad's Green Zone.

Previously, the supporters of Muqtada al-Sadr had gathered inside the parliament building and the souring area in the green zone, and this caused other political movements and Iraqi officials to take a stand in recent weeks, considering the sensitivity of the country's situation, demanding self-restraint and resolving disputes through dialogue.

According to Iraqi sources on Tuesday, 20 people were killed, and 350 were injured in clashes on Monday in the Green zone of Baghdad, the capital of Iraq.

Al Arabiya correspondent also reported that two Iraqi soldiers were killed in the clashes.

At the same time, the Iraqi Alsumaria News Channel reported that Ahmed Hatem al-Asadi, the head of the Iraqi Federal Police, was injured during the clashes on Monday.

This network quoted an anonymous security source saying that Asadi was wounded along with one of his security personnel.

This is while the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, issued an order to ban firing on Monday.

Al-Kadhimi also asked Muqtada al- Sadr, the leader of the Sadr movement, to ask his supporters to leave government buildings.

Following the unrest, the Iraqi Prime Minister suspended the cabinet until further notice.
