Iran's Civil Aviation Organization: 

Tehran (IP) - The deputy head of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) said that Iranians present in Iraq can return to Iran with an extraordinary flight.

Iran PressIran news: Every year on Arba’een, millions of people from around the world flock to Karbala. Large groups of mourners travel on foot toward the holy city to take part in the largest annual Islamic gathering on earth. The ceremony falls on September 17 this year.

On Monday, after Muqtada Al-Sadr announced his resignation from political activities in Iraq, pro-Sadr protesters stormed the presidential palace in Baghdad's Green Zone.

After the Iraqi security forces took control of the presidential palace, Muqtada Al-Sadr's supporters retreated from the Green Zone in Baghdad.

CAO deputy head Hassan Khoshkhoo said: "All flights from Iran to Iraq have been canceled until further notice, and no flights will be made from Iran to Iraq."

Iran's Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization also announced that Iranian pilgrims in Iraq are safe and sound and the sending of pilgrimage caravans to this country has been canceled.

Following the developments in Iraq, the Iranian Embassy in Baghdad issued a statement announcing that Iranian pilgrims should refrain from visiting the cities of Baghdad, Kazmain and Samarra.

Iraq's early parliamentary elections were held on October 10, 2021. Despite the passage of 10 months, the country's political factions have not been able to form a new government due to political differences so far, 

Dissolving the newly formed parliament and re-holding elections after the demonstrations and unrest of recent days in Baghdad as an option has been seriously proposed to get Iraq out of the political deadlock.
