Tehran (IP) - Referring to the current economic conditions of Iran, Iran's parliament speaker said that medical tourism is one of the great opportunities for Iran.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking in a ceremony held on Tuesday night on the occasion of the Iranian Doctors' Day at Milad Tower in Tehran, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that when it comes to the country's challenges, water, population and economy come up.

He added: When we deal with the issue of population, the issue of health is given more attention than before, which is a comprehensive issue and everyone's concern.

He emphasized: There are two issues in which we have the ability to compete at the regional and global levels: defense, health and medicine.

Parliament Speaker further said that our challenge in the field of medicine is our management approach and we could not use the capacities of the medical community as we should.

Later, the Minister of Health, Bahram  Einollahi, said: "Today, we have the strongest health sector in the region, which not only meets our own needs, but also meets the needs of the countries in the region."

The Minister of Health added: We had the days of Coronavirus, which was passed with the help of the medical community.

He emphasized: We have one million and six hundred thousand coronavirus vaccine injection per day, and according to the United Nations report, we are one of the six countries in the world to contain the coronavirus.

The minister noted: We currently have 50 million vaccine doses in stock and six vaccine production centers, which are also ready for export.

In addition to the speaker of the parliament and the Minister of Health, the Director General of the Medical System Organization, the Director of the Martyr Foundation, the Director of Tehran Emergency and the Director of the Health and Treatment Commission of the Parliament were also present in this ceremony. 

At the end of the session, some elite doctors and health martyrs' families were honored.
