The Iranian team won first place in the tournament for the second time by winning 9 gold medals and 1 silver medal. 250 students from 45 countries participated in this competition.

Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, in this message on Monday, stated: "Iran's smart students once again showed their merit by winning first place in the 15th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA 2022) in Georgia."

Iran participated in the tournament in two teams. The first team won first place with 5 gold medals, and the second one won 4 gold medals and one silver medal.

Mehdi Ostadmohammadi, Sepehr Salamat, Mohammad Mehdi Abedian, Farhad Azizi Sattari, Yousef Mir Yousefi, Sahand Esmaeilzadeh, Sahand Akramipour, Aria Ghanbari, Arsam Majed won the gold medal and Alireza Alaei ​​won the silver medal.

250 students from 45 countries participated in the competition.
