Iran PressIran News: Hamid Nouri was arrested upon arrival in Sweden at Stockholm Airport in November 2019 and was immediately imprisoned.

His accusers, who are members of the anti-Iran terrorist cult of Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO), have alleged that Nouri was involved in the execution and torture of MKO members in 1988. Nouri has vehemently rejected the allegation.

Last month, a Swedish court handed him a life sentence.

On Saturday, Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, in a meeting with the Swedish ambassador in Tehran, Matthias Lintz, while referring to the latest state of bilateral relations between the two countries, called the illegal process and verdict of Hamid Nouri's court unacceptable and stressed the need for his complete acquittal and immediate release.
