Iran (IP) - Legal Deputy of Iran’s Customs announced the seizure of over 1.1 tons of crystal meth hidden in two fuel tankers that were entering Iran from Afghanistan.

Iran PressIran news: Farideh Zobeidi stated on Monday that over 1.1 tons of methamphetamine (also known as meth or crystal meth) has been confiscated from two fuel tankers that have entered Iran from Afghanistan.

"The seizure of 1,118 kilograms of meth set a new record for the confiscation of this type of narcotics in a day in terms of amounts that have never been recorded before," she said.

The legal deputy of Iran’s customs noted that the consignments, trucks, narcotics and all documents along with the defendants were handed over to the representatives of the Intelligence forces of South Khorasan Province.

She highlighted that recently, the seizure of industrial drugs, particularly meth and heroin, has increased from Afghan origin.
