Beirut (IP) - The Secretary General of Lebanon's Hezbollah Movement said that the resistance is now ready to respond to any attack by the Israeli regime on Lebanon.

According to Monday's report of Al-Manar network, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Islamic Resistance Movement emphasized the importance of the role of Iranian martyred Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, the former Commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), in the victories of the resistance and added that the resistance is ready to respond to any aggression of the Zionist regime against Lebanon.

The Secretary-General of Lebanon's Hezbollah pointed to the role of Lt Gen Soleimani during the 33-day war and before that in realizing the victories of the Islamic resistance and said the Iranian commander intended to enter the battlefield personally.

After consulting with Imad Mughniyeh, the senior military Commander of Hezbollah in Lebanon, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah emphasized we asked Soleimani not to enter the battle directly because the presence of Soleimani by our side was more important than entering the battlefield.

The Secretary-General of Hezbollah clarified that Hezbollah's decision to go to war with the Israeli regime in the summer of 2006 was a completely Lebanese decision made by Hezbollah leaders.

Lieutenant-General Qassem Soleimani, Commander of the IRGC's Quds Force, who traveled to Iraq on January 3, 2020 at the official invitation of the Iraqi authorities, along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the Deputy Chief of the Popular Mobilization Organization of Iraq (Hashd al-Shaabi) and 8 other people were martyred in an attack by American aggressors near Baghdad Airport.
