Hormozgan (IP) – Police forces of Iran's Hormozgan Province have confiscated 32,000 liters of smuggled fuel in an operation.

Iran PressIran News: The Police Commander of Hormozgan Province, Brigadier-General Gholamreza Ja'fari, announced on Wednesday that police forces had confiscated 32,000 liters of smuggled Diesel fuel in an operation in Minab County of Hormozgan Province.

He highlighted that the police forces had also arrested one person in this regard and handed him to the judiciary.

Subsidized fuel in Iran is seen as an opportunity for smugglers to draw huge benefits. Iran, however, re-imposed using fuel cards and rationed gasoline back in November 2019, which was aimed in part to take the smuggling under control.
