Iraqi Shiite cleric Seyed Muqtada al-Sadr, discussed bilateral ties with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in Najaf on Thursday.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to Alsumaria News, the Information Office of Iraqi Shiite cleric Seyed Muqtada al-Sadr said in a statement that the two sides discussed the political situation in Iraq and the region and stressed the importance of Iraqi-Turkish relations and topics of interest to both countries.

Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister said that he discussed with al-Sadr the issue of forming a government and common issues between the two countries.

The Turkish Foreign Minister confirmed that he found a great response by Sadr in the topics discussed.

Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu met with Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi as part of his visit to Baghdad for a two-day official visit.
