The letter of the Leader of the Islamic revolution addressed to young Europeans was distributed and welcomed by visitors to the Frankfurt International Book Fair in Germany.

Europe: According to an Iran Press report, on the second day of the 70th edition of the Frankfurt International Book Fair, the English translation of a letter by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei was distributed to all the visitors at the Iranian pavilion.

Following the terrorist events in France on January 21, 2015 and the publication of insulting images to Islam and Muslims in a French publication, along with an intensifying anti-Islamic and Islamophobic media campaign by Western authorities, the Leader of the Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, wrote a letter to young people in Europe and North America.

The letter addressed young people in Europe and North America directly, and called on them to explore the motives behind this broad Western anti-Islamic campaign. The Leader urged young Europeans and North Americans to find out more about genuine Islam from its original sources, and not to rely on prejudiced Western information on Islam, and to try to get a direct and immediate cognition of Islam, in response to a flood of prejudices and negative propaganda.

On 29 November 2015, the Leader also wrote a second letter to the Western youth, condemning the double standards of the world's powers and considered events such as the Paris terrorist attacks as a direct result of Western policies.

The 70th edition of the Frankfurt International Book Fair was inaugurated on Tuesday 9 October with prominent figures such as Federica Mogherini, the European Union foreign policy chief, Mikheil Janelidze, the former Georgian foreign minister, and Heinrich Reit Müller, the head of the German publishers and booksellers Union, in attendance. Following the opening ceremony, Iran's national pavilion at the book fair was officially opened to the public on Wednesday morning (10 October).
