Fars(IP)- Like other provinces of Iran, monsoon rains in Fars province are accompanied by widespread floods.

Iran PressIran news: Various regions of Fars province South Western Iran, including Shiraz, witnessed heavy rains on Friday, and monsoon rains caused flooding of streets, passages, and water penetration into people's houses.

The Crisis Management Headquarters of Fars province announced that more than 4 thousand people were given emergency accommodation on Friday night due to the continuation of monsoon rains and floods in different cities of Fars province.

The Crisis Management Headquarters of Fars Province reported that so far, about 40 cities of Fars Province have been affected by floods, flood water, and inundation, and with the efforts of relief teams and people, water is being drained from the surface of roads, streets, and people's houses.

The intensity of water in the streets and roads of Shiraz city, the capital of Fars province, southwest of Iran, has caused problems for the traffic of cars and people.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Meteorological Organization announced the continuation of monsoon rains. It reported that the rains would continue on Saturday in the provinces of Sistan and Baluchistan, Kerman, Hormozgan, Fars, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Khuzestan, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer- Ahmad. There is still a possibility of flooding.

The Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced on Friday night that 53 people have died and 16 people are missing due to heavy rains and floods in different regions of Iran.
