Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Energy says diplomacy regarding water issues is constantly being pursued by the government.

Iran PressIran News: In an interview with Iran Press News Agency, Ali Akbar Mehrabian said almost in all bilateral and multilateral meetings held in the country, diplomacy regarding water issues has been the top priority of the negotiations. 

He reported about the agreements reached between Iran and the region's countries, including a long-term agreement with Iraq.

Mehrabian said Iran currently has energy cooperation with Iraq in power supply, the establishment of power plants, and maintenance of the power plants.

More than 30 percent of the Iraqi electricity power is being supplied by Iran, the minister added. 

He expressed hope that with the long-term agreement reached, the cooperation between the two countries would increase.
