Energy Minister:

Tehran (IP) – Iran's Energy Minister terms strengthening water and energy diplomacy as one of the administration's foreign policy priorities.

Iran PressIran News: On the sidelines of the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Ali-Akbar Mehrabian stated that in almost all the bilateral meetings with neighboring countries, the issue of water and electricity diplomacy is on the agenda.

"During Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Tehran, detailed discussions were held between the delegations and we expressed our concerns about Turkiye's dam constructions; the two presidents agreed to form a committee to investigate this issue," the Iranian minister said.

He also expressed concern about Iran's rights on Hirmand water.

"In the matter of energy, we have had good agreements with our neighbors for almost a year, especially in connecting the grid with different methods," Mehrabian highlighted.

He pointed out that the purpose of these agreements is energy swap.
