Tehran (IP) - The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in his latest tweet stated that Iran has been and still is a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) member stressing that reaching an agreement in the negotiations to lift the sanctions depends on the decision and will of the United States.

Iran PressIran news: The eighth round of negotiations in Vienna on the removal of the oppressive sanctions against Iran, which started on December 27, 2021, entered the interval period on March 11, 2022, at the suggestion of The EU's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, and the negotiators returned to their capitals for political consultations.

Since then, the process of negotiations was stopped due to the delay in the decision of the United States to compensate for the illegal actions of this country towards Iran and the JCPOA, but after the recent trip of Josep Borrell to Tehran and his meeting with high-ranking officials of Iran, negotiations aimed at lifting sanctions were held on June 28 and 29 in Doha, Qatar.

In this regard, Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wrote in a tweet today (Tuesday): "Iran has been & still remains a JCPOA member. The party that needs to prove “good faith” & "seriousness" to “re-enter” the deal is the US."

Pointing out that Iran has been very flexible in the negotiations, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran stated: "We remain committed to reach a good, strong & lasting agreement that guarantees JCPOA-envisioned benefits for Iran. The onus is on the US."
