Tehran (IP) - The head of the Islamic Culture and Communications Organization of Iran stressed the need to develop cultural exports, saying that the organization seeks cultural exports as a strategy to promote culture.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking on the third day of the 10th Summit of cultural Counsellors of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the Organisation of Islamic Culture and Communications, Mohammad Mahdi Imanipour said: "Many institutions are active in the international arena in fulfilling their cultural obligations. Their number does not hinder the activity, but their incoherence does not have pleasant consequences."

Referring to the new approach of the Organisation of Islamic Culture and Communications, he said the organization seeks to develop cultural exports to promote culture.

Speaking to Iran Press on the sidelines of this meeting, Imanipour, referred to the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran to develop ties with neighboring countries, saying that the Islamic Culture and Communications Organization has a serious plan to develop cultural relations and increase cultural exports by using the capacity of cultural attachés.

He considered the development of border markets as a good opportunity to develop cultural exports with neighboring countries.

On the sidelines of the meeting, an exhibition of export-oriented cultural products is being held with the aim of showing the capacity and capabilities of our country's artists in various fields.

More than 80 cultural institutions are present in this exhibition.

Iran, cultural superpower in the world

As another speaker of this event, Ahmad Vahidi, the Minister of Interior, said: "One of the dimensions of cultural power is cultural penetration. Cultural penetration means creating a persuasion towards our own beliefs and thoughts."

He added: "The development of our security depends on the development of our power, and the development of our power depends on the development of cultural power."

Vahidi stated that Iran's capacity to build cultural power is unique and emphasized: "We are a cultural superpower." 

The 10th Summit of cultural Counsellors of the Islamic Republic of Iran started on Saturday in the presence of the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, and will continue for 6 days, with the slogan of "knowledge-based cultural, convergent diplomacy, the export of culture" at the Organisation of the Islamic Culture and Communications, and in this event, in the presence of 60 cultural attachés who have missions in different countries.
