Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance says that the country respects the cultural and artistic diversity.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili, representatives of the Islamic Council, members of the cultural, social, and industrial factions, the clothing industry, and the country's clothing fashion stylists, and people from all walks of life were present at the event.

Attending the closing ceremony of the 11th Fajr International Fashion and Clothing Festival, Esmaili said: "The history of Iran's culture and art in clothing is very bright and radiant, so we are proud of seven thousand years of history.

He added: "The magnificent Iranian Islamic civilization is associated with the characteristics of clothing and art."

Esmaili said: "Iranians have artistically chosen clothing throughout history, and the Iranian Islamic cultural aspect has been preserved in all clothing, while this cultural and artistic view is not found in some civilizations, the ones whose title is nudity."

The Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance continued: "Dressing is part of the Iranian Islamic identity."

Esmaili went on to say: "In recent years, Iranian women have been strongly present in all spheres, specially in scientific, industrial and important cultural and artistic sections, maintaining their hijab.

The Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance reiterated: "We respect the cultural and artistic diversity of Iran, and we do not seek to impose a certain type of fashion, and clothing against Iranians in the society, and we recognize all differences."

At the ceremony, best fashion designers and producers have been awarded Golden Peacock.

The festival was held until July 15 in Milad Tower.
