Tehran (IP)- A tripartite meeting of heads of Astana guarantor states will be held in Tehran on Tuesday with the presence of the presidents of Iran, Turkey and Russia.

Iran PressIran News: The crisis in Syria started in 2011 with a massive attack by terrorist groups supported by Saudi Arabia, the United States and their allies to change the equations of the region in favor of the Zionist regime.

The Astana process began in January 2017 on the back of a Syria-wide ceasefire between the Syrian government and armed groups. Iran and Russia, as the allies of the Syrian government, as well as Turkey, which sides with the opposition, set up the process to put an end to the Syrian conflict through the involvement of the Syrian government and the opposition.

Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian stated that the main agenda of the summit of Astana guarantor states in Tehran, easing tension in conflict areas in Syria and maintaining stability in the country.

Stating that the new security crisis between Syria and Turkey must be managed, Amir Abdollahian said that he conveyed the message of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this regard during his trip to Ankara and Damascus.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran stated that the Turkish side says that there is a possibility of military operations up to 30 kilometers inside the Syrian border; meanwhile, Iran is trying to resolve the crisis through political means. According to Amir Abdollahian reducing tension, the return of Syrian refugees, and helping Syria's stability and security are on the agenda of the tripartite meeting. 219
