Middle East(IP)- News sources reported several heavy explosions in the border region of Syria and Iraq on Thursday morning.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to Iran press, Iraq's Sabrin News channel reported that more than 15 heavy explosions took place in the border region of Iraq and Syria inside the territory of Syria.

According to this report, loud explosions were heard in the Deir Ez-Zor province of Syria, which happened on the axis of the Syrian army's operations.

Deir Ez-Zor is the largest city in eastern Syria and the seventh largest in the country. Located 450 km northeast of the capital Damascus on the banks of the Euphrates River, Deir ez-Zor is the capital of the Deir ez-Zor Governorate.

Earlier, some sources reported that several explosions were heard in the southern Rif of Damascus, which, according to the reports, took place during the military exercise of the Syrian army.

The official Syrian news agency (SANA) previously reported that Russian warplanes bombarded the positions of the terrorist groups supported by Türkiye in the demilitarized zone.

The terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra (Tahrir al-Sham) from Idlib province targets the cities and villages of the weapon-free area and its surrounding areas with rockets, mortars, and suicide drones (loitering munition).
