Baghdad (IP) – Baghdad Police Command announced that two ISIS elements that have been wanted for years have been detained in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

Iran PressMiddle East: The Baghdad Police Command issued a statement announcing that the Baghdad Emergency Regiments Directorate had information about the presence of two suspects wanted under the provisions of Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law, and arrest warrants have been issued against the two since 2008.

The two terrorists were handed over to the relevant authorities for legal procedures.

The Iraqi security forces also managed to capture an ISIS element in eastern Al-Anbar Province on Monday in a joint operation with the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMU).

The operation was carried out based on detailed intelligence reports, according to PMU's information unit.

After nearly three and a half years of fighting with the ISIS terror outfit, which occupied about a third of Iraq, the Iraqi government announced the liberation of all its territories from ISIS hands in December 2017.

The remaining ISIS elements are still active in some parts of Baghdad, Saladin, Diyala, Kirkuk, Nineveh, and Al-Anbar Provinces.
