Iranian MFA spox:

Tehran (IP)- Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman says they will have important visits from the heads of states of neighboring countries and the region to Iran in the coming days.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking in his first presser, the newly-appointed spokesman for Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanani said: "We witnessed one of the most dynamic eras in Iran's foreign relations and policy, and we will continue the procedure in the coming days, months, and years."

"The numerous trips of leaders, presidents, high-ranking officials, and foreign ministers of other countries to Iran have turned Tehran into the capital of active regional diplomacy," Kanani added,

Kanani went on to say: "In the coming days, we will see important visits from the heads of neighboring countries and the region to Iran. Completing the convergence process with regional and international organizations and paying attention to the policy of regionalism and Asianism, and developing relations with regional institutions such as Shanghai, BRICS, etc. is another facet of active and dynamic diplomacy."

He added: "Emphasizing economic diplomacy to improve people's livelihood neutralizing unilateral and oppressive sanctions by focusing on bilateral relations with independent countries focusing on economic multilateralism, and strengthening the neighborhood policy are other strategic considerations of Iran Foreign Ministry."

Nations of regions well aware of US' destructive measures

The spokesperson of Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the US officials cannot justify and explain the result of their bad, and destructive actions that they have applied in the region and West Asia for many years.

In response to a question regarding the remarks of the US President Joe Biden, who claimed that the increase in economic and diplomatic pressure on Iran has reduced the number of Iranian-backed attacks against American forces compared to two years ago, Kanani said: "It is very surprising that the American statesmen think they can justify and explain the result of their bad, and destructive actions that they have applied in the region and West Asia for many years if they express such statements or write articles in a newspaper. The US President Joe Biden and American officials know what the people of the region think about America's interventionist policy in the region. It is the eve of the US President's visit to the region. In his article, he stated that one of the main goals of his trip is to help strengthen peace and security in the region, to create stability and peace in the region, and to resolve disputes."

Kanani said: "Establishing stability and peace in the region requires a practical change in American behavior. The nature of the Israeli regime in the region is illegitimate and illegal, and it has been full of crime and occupation for seven decades. The US is the ardent supporter of the Israeli regime. Interventionist policy is US' illegal policy. The illegal presence of the US in any countries of the region, including Iraq and Afghanistan, has not brought order and security to those countries, and has brought material and human losses to the people of the region and suffering and sorrow. The US administration cannot make their destructive past clean with an article and attribute the presence of its forces in the region to Iranian forces or to Iran as a whole.

Kanani noted: "The US Administration and the president of this country should review the regional foreign policy of the United States and take a look at the type of public opinion in the region and change their behavior and halt the policy of supporting the Israeli regime. Avoiding interference in the internal affairs of countries and avoiding symbolic alliances in the region and respecting the sovereignty and independence of countries is the best behavior that the US Administration can adopt to return stability and peace to the region."

Iranian diplomat Asadollah Asadi to be released soon

Regarding the latest situation of the arrested Iranian diplomat Asadollah Asadi in Belgium, the spokesperson of Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated elsewhere: "Pursuing the release of this dear Iranian diplomat as soon as possible since the beginning of his illegal and inconsistent arrest and detention based on the Vienna Convention is on the agenda of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all departments of Iran's government. His unconditional release is a serious request of Iran."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman expressed hope that the efforts made would soon lead to the release of Asadollah Asadi.

He also hoped the Belgian government would not be affected by demagogic trends.

"Political dialogues and consultations are held with the Belgian authorities, and close communication and consultations are held in the judicial area with the Belgian government. We hope that in the context of the actions taken and the follow-ups and the efforts we have made so far, we will soon witness the release of this Iranian diplomat, and we think that the Belgian government should pay attention to the legal request and the right of Iran," Kanani added.

Asadollah Asadi is one of the diplomatic agents of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Vienna, Austria. In July 2018, he was illegally detained in the state of Bavaria, Germany, while returning to his residence in Vienna, despite having political immunity. After one hundred and one days of detention, he was transferred to Belgium in October 2018 by the illegal sentence of the German Karlsruhe court. After the transfer, the Antwerp Criminal Court illegally sentenced him to twenty years in prison, contrary to the diplomatic immunity of Asadollah Asadi under the 1961 Vienna Convention. He is currently imprisoned in Belgium.
