President Raisi:

Tehran(IP)- During the phone call with the Pakistani Prime Minister, Iran's President stated that the country has no restrictions on expanding relations with Pakistan.

Iran PressIran News: Ebrahim Raisi, in response to the phone call of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, congratulating the government and nation of the country on the arrival of Eid al-Adha, said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran attaches great importance to its relations with Pakistan."

Raisi, Iran's President, went on to say: "The current level of relations between Tehran and Islamabad is not under the diverse capacities of the two countries, and the regular holding of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission can pave the way for the improvement of the level of relations between the two countries."

He added: "We are ready to expand relations and increase exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of energy and agriculture."

Expressing his satisfaction with the possibility of Iran receiving Pakistani pilgrims from the Holy Shrine of the 8th Imam, the President stated: "Iran is the best friend of neighboring countries in different situations."

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the government and the nation on the arrival of Eid al-Adha, as well as the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

He further appreciated the assistance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in putting out the fire in a part of the country's forests, as well as Iran's good hospitality to the Pakistani pilgrims to the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza PBUH.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan stated that relations between Pakistan and Iran have continued for centuries as fraternal relations, beyond neighborly relations, and both countries belong to the same creed and religion and are part of the same family.

He said: "I am grateful for Iran's attention and efforts to expand relations with neighboring countries, including Pakistan."

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need to hold the joint commission meeting for economic cooperation between the two countries as soon as possible and added: "Pakistan is interested in expanding the exchange of goods and clearing as well as cooperation in the field of energy with Iran."

The Prime Minister of Pakistan also said: "We want the return of peace and stability to Afghanistan and the improvement of the living conditions of the people of the country, as well as paving of grounds for the return of Afghan refugees to their own country."
