Tehran (IP) - The new Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed his gratitude to the Iranian president for sending a congratulatory message and invited him to pay an official visit to Pakistan.

Iran PressAsia: Shehbaz Sharif thanked the President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, for sending a congratulatory message on his election as Prime Minister of Pakistan.

The Pakistani embassy in Tehran announced on Twitter: "The Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed hope that Tehran and Islamabad will work together to expand close relations between the two neighboring countries."

Shehbaz Sharif has also invited the Iranian president to pay an official visit to Pakistan.

In a message last week, the Iranian president congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on his election as the new Prime Minister of Pakistan and expressed hope that the way forward would lead to the cooperation between the two countries reaching the desired level of the two great nations of Iran and Pakistan.

In this message, Raisi emphasized: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is always ready to promote cooperation in all aspects with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan."
