Tehran(IP): Prominent people and veterans of Iran's sports field were honored in the first Chivalry Ritual Festival held in Tehran.

Iran PressIran News: According to Iran Press News Agency, in this festival that was held on Wednesday evening in the Sourah Hall of the Art Zone (Houze Honari) in the presence of Tehran Governor-General Mohsen Mansouri, among the 13 people who have been involved in activities such as non-confrontation with the opponent of the Zionist regime, giving a medal to Astan Quds Razavi (Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH)), release of the prisoners and helped the victims of the earthquake and flood, were appreciated.

Pahlevan in the Persian language   means “Hero” and as you may have already understood, Pahlevani refers to heroism. But the type of heroism which was not only about the physical fitness and strength of the sportsmen but also their humility, courtesy, manliness and generosity. As modesty and clemency were highly regarded as dominant characteristics of real men and heroes.

Prominent cleric, Ali Akbari, Friday Prayers Leader of Tehran and Ali Jawadi, Director-General of Sports and Youth of Tehran Province, were the speakers of this conference and in their speeches, they appreciated the role of Pahlavans (brave warriors) to solve the problems of the society.

It should be mentioned that this festival was held following the notification of the Culture and Youth Ministries and in order to revive the culture of Pahlevani wrestling.
