The day of Zoorkhaneh Sports and Pahlavani Culture was founded to commemorate the epic battle of Imam Ali (as) in the battle of Khaybar on Shawwal 17, the tenth month of the lunar-based Islamic calendar.
Zoorkhaneh Sports have been introduced and recognized as the ancient Iranian heritage throughout the world.
