In his meeting with his Qatari counterpart, Iran's Foreign Minister stressed the importance of developing cooperation in regional countries to create stability and security, pointing to the importance of facilitating the relations between economic actors and trade exchanges between them.

Iran PressIran news: During the meeting of Hossein Amirabdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, and Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, on Wednesday, issues of bilateral and regional relations were discussed and opinions were exchanged.

In this meeting, Amir Abdollahian appreciated the efforts of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar in the field of developing relations between the two countries in various fields.

Referring to the importance of facilitating the relations of economic operators and commercial exchanges between them, he pointed out some of the obstacles in various fields, including the visa issue, residence permits for businessmen, and some problems in the commercial transportation sector, which need an urgent and appropriate response.

Amir Abdollahian appreciated the hospitality and constructive efforts of the Qatari government in holding the recent negotiations on removing the sanctions against Iran.

Qatar is considered one of the priority countries in Iran's foreign policy, these two Islamic countries are located in the important and sensitive region of the Persian Gulf, and their political views on important regional issues are close to each other. 

In recent years, after the imposition of sanctions against Qatar by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt, Iran's positive response to help the people and government of Qatar in countering these sanctions led to the establishment of the highest political relations between the two countries. 219
