Tehran (IP)- In a press conference with his Qatari counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs mentioned the recent talks between Iran and the US in Doha and the reason for its inconclusiveness and said that contrary to some claims by the US, we do not have any extravagant or extraneous demands.

Due to the failure of the recent talks between Iran and the United States in Doha, US officials have stated that the reason was Iran's excesses and demands beyond the JCPOA.

US special envoy for Iran Robert Malley said Iran had added demands unrelated to discussions on its nuclear program during the latest talks in Doha aimed at breaking an impasse in negotiations to revive the 2015 nuclear deal.

Iranian Foreign Minister said Qatar plays a crucial and constructive role in strengthening regional cooperation and in indirect talks with the US, recently held in Doha.

Hossein Amirabdollahian told reporters after meeting with Qatar's Foreign Minister Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Tehran: "We had constructive talks. I appreciate the foreign minister of Qatar for handling the meeting between the Iranian sports officials and the Qatari officials responsible for organizing the World Cup.

West accusation shows lack of seriousness in Doha talks: Raisi

Iran's top diplomat added that Qatar's foreign minister announced that there would be no problem for Iranian businessmen to stay in Qatar for a long time. We talked about facilitating transportation and solving the problems of the corona situation that some Iranian barge owners were facing. We hope that these problems will be solved in this regard.

Amir Abdollahian also mentioned the nuclear talks and added: "We are determined to reach a good, strong and stable agreement. Contrary to some American claims, we do not have any demands beyond the JCPOA. Our requests are entirely within the framework of the 2015 agreement.

US lacked initiative in Doha talks: FM

The foreign minister said: In the recent talks in Doha, one of the main issues we focused on is the effective guarantee from the US in the field of anything that would affect Iran's full economic benefit from the JCPOA. Therefore, our demand is not excessive, but in the way of obtaining guarantees, the United States must guarantee that the Islamic Republic of Iran will enjoy the full benefits of the 2015 agreement. This is what America has not been able to assure us so far.

For his part, the Qatari Foreign Minister said: My visit to Iran today comes within the framework of a regional and a major international challenge.

There must be constructive efforts to make the nuclear agreement successful and encourage regional dialogue. Qatar's top diplomat said we support any dialogue between Tehran and the region's countries.
