Tehran(IP): Referring to the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran stated that the relations between the two countries are continuing in the right direction.

Iran PressIran News: Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov arrived in Tehran on Monday morning;

Bayramov first went to meet the Speaker of Iran's Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, then he visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was welcomed by Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

After that, the foreign ministers of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan had a discussion, and they came to the journalists and explained the consultations.

The Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan also met and talked with the Islamic Republic of Iran President on Monday.

According to the Iran Press, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian wrote in a tweet about this visit: "I had an important and friendly conversation with my brother Bayramov."

Amir- Abdollahian added that in this meeting, bilateral, regional, and international issues were discussed, and the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on the principles of maintaining territorial integrity and respect for sovereignty was emphasized.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran stated that the visit of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to Tehran was included in the joint plan.

The Republic of Azerbaijan is one of Iran's neighbors, which has wanted to expand cooperation with Iran in various fields in recent years.

Relations between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan gained new momentum after meeting the two countries' presidents on the sidelines of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit in Ashgabat on November 28, 2021.
