Tehran (IP)- The Iranian Foreign Minister called the BRICS summit a promising part of the movement towards development and world peace.

Iran PressIran news: BRICS is the acronym coined to associate five major emerging economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China (PRC), and South Africa. The BRICS members are known for their significant influence on regional affairs. Since 2009, the governments of the BRICS states have met annually at formal summits.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, addressed the BRICS and a number of BRICS Plus summits on Friday.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian tweeted: "BRICS, with its great potential and innovative vision, promises to move effectively in the direction of development and world peace."

The Iranian Foreign Minister added: "In the form of dynamic diplomacy, we use every opportunity to advance national goals."

In a telephone conversation with Hussein Amir-Abdollahian on Thursday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi welcomed Raisi's presence at the BRICS summit and expressed hope that the path of diplomacy and dialogue would lead to an agreement in the Vienna talks.
