Tehran (IP) - Matinjeh is one of the heavenly Iranian food, so anyone can give it try to boost your energy for rest of the day a head.

Iran PressIran news: Matinjeh, also known as Yazdi fesnjan, is one of the traditional foods of Yazd, located 270 km (170 mi) southeast of Esfahan.

Matinjeh, in addition to plenty of walnuts, has meat, pomegranate paste, and other ingredients of ordinary fesnjan, also contains apples and apricots or plums.

As the main ingredient, walnut is rich in antioxidants, the super plant source of omega-3s, decreases inflammation, promotes a healthy gut, supports weight control, and sometimes may help lower blood pressure, more importantly, it is a perfect supplement for pregnant and breastfeeding women. 

Ingredients:

Red or white meat: as desired
Walnuts and almonds: as desired
Beetroot: a medium number
Apple or plum: one
Fresh dried apricot or plum: a handful
Pomegranate paste: to the extent that it does not tint the taste of plums 
Onion: one 
Spices: Turmeric and cardamom

How to make: 

Chop red meat or sometimes chicken or turkey instead, then add onion and fry them together, next add turmeric and two glasses of water and allow to simmer, then add ground walnuts or almonds to the meat, then chop the beets, apples, and plums and add them to meat and mix with the ingredients with three glasses of water and allow to cook for an hour in gentle heat.  

Note: You can remove the apples from the ingredients, but not the beets,
 finally, add one or two tablespoons of pomegranate paste, depending on your taste.

It can be served either with rice or bread.
