Kermanshah (IP) - Abbas-Ali traditional Ash (pottage) has been common for about two centuries in the holy month of Ramadan in Kermanshah Province, west of Iran, and serving this pottage is not limited to the month of Ramadan only.

Iran PressIran News: The pottage is popular among the people because of its ingredients; It consists of different types of legumes, wheat, rice, and especially red meat.

Several traditional hubs in Kermanshah make pottage, but the most important one is 'Yatimcheh Abbas-Ali Ash' located in one of the old touristic areas. The Ash is also interesting for tourists.

For making the delicious and popular pottage in the holy month of Ramadan, a long time is needed and the pottage should be stirred from dawn to dusk.

The pottage is attributed to a person called 'Abbas-Ali' who made a vow to make the meal with legumes and meat in the holy month of Ramadan and give it to fasting people as the Iftar (the time when Muslims are allowed to eat and drink after a long day of fasting from dawn until sunset) meal.
