A seminar marking International Quds Day was held in Islamabad under the auspices of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, drawing prominent political, religious, and social leaders to express solidarity with Palestine and condemn recent U.S. and Israeli regime aggression against Iran.

Why it matters:
The event underscores the growing regional support for Palestine and renewed outrage among Iranian and Pakistani officials following U.S. strikes and Israel’s involvement in recent illegal war against Iran.

The big picture:
Quds Day, initiated by Imam Khomeini, is commemorated worldwide to affirm solidarity with the Palestinian people and denounce Israeli occupation. This year’s observances come amid heightened tensions after deadly attacks against Iran by the U.S. and Israeli regime.

What he's saying:
Iranian Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam said that “Imam Khomeini (R.A) attributed this day to Quds and in the light of today's education, millions of people have come out and are protesting against the tyrant. This war will continue until the liberation of the first Qibla. The arrogant US President Donald Trump, along with Israel, attacked Iran and demonstrated a serious barbarity by martyring innocent girls in a school in Minab, but we will not sit still without avenging the blood of these girls and every Iranian martyr.”

Raja Nasser Abbas, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate of Pakistan, emphasized that U.S. efforts to impose regime change in Iran had failed. He remarked that “Trump, who dreamed of regime change in Iran, suffered a severe blow when millions of Iranians came out in anger after the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader and pledged allegiance to the new Supreme Leader.”

Other speakers included Hamas spokesman Khaled Qaddoumi from Tehran, former Religious Affairs Minister Pir Noorul Haq Qadri, and Allama Arif Vahdi from the National Solidarity Council.

Go deeper:
The Quds Day seminar in Islamabad reflects how Iran’s regional allies continue to frame the Palestinian cause as central to broader resistance against U.S. and Israeli influence. The event also highlights growing coordination across political and religious fronts in Pakistan to echo Iran’s narrative of steadfast defiance.
