Iran and Russia have underlined the need for implementing all the agreements made during the course of Astana talks on Syria, including those calling for the protection of the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Iran PressAsia: The Iranian delegation to the 18th round of Astana talks, which were headed by Ali-Asghar Khaji, a senior aide to the Iranian foreign minister, met and conferred with the Syrian delegation to the talks on Wednesday.

The two delegations discussed the latest developments underway in Syria.

Speaking during the meeting, Khaji stressed that the guarantors of the Astana talks have to be determined enough to find a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis.

He expressed concern over the continuation of the Zionist attacks which inflict serious damage to Syrian infrastructure.

For his part, The head of the Syrian delegation hailed the shared views of Iran and Russia on the Syrian crisis and welcomed any bilateral cooperation in this regard.

He complained about the approach of the Western governments to the agreements and resolutions, particularly Resolution 2585, and urged the need for not politicizing the humanitarian aid to the Syrian people.
