Tehran (IP)- The President of Venezuela said that Iran and Venezuela, although geographically distant, share in building a fair, more multipolar world without the US hegemony.

Venezuela has a close relationship with Iran based on oil cooperation and their shared animosity toward the United States. 

Heading a high-ranking delegation, Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro arrived in Iran on June 10 at the official invitation of the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to discuss bilateral ties.

As part of his visit to Iran, the President of Venezuela visited the HispanTV network on Friday upon his arrival in Tehran and has noted that Iran and his country are at the forefront of change in the historical period and the reestructuración of a new world without hegemony and domination of the US Empire.

The President of Venezuela has underlined that the revolution's leaders should be very well aware of the signs of change that are appearing in humanity and that the current moment indicates the decline of the hegemonic powers.

Expressing the importance of his trip to Iran, Maduro noted that in the past 20 years, the common interests and brotherhood have been deepened between the two states.

During his two-day visit, the Venezuelan President will meet with high-ranking Iranian officials to discuss bilateral ties and issues of mutual interests.

Before paying a visit to Tehran, the Venezuelan President met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on Wednesday, June 8.
